Hi readers! My name is Allison Stone and I am an owner of a daycare in the south. I started my own daycare about 7 years ago when I was about 23 years old. I double majored in Child Development and Entrepreneurship. I always knew I wanted to do something that involved business and children but it took me a few years to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my degrees.
All throughout college and high school, I did many different babysitting gigs. My dad was in the navy and so I got to work for a government daycare company that hired people to babysit or nanny for people who serve our country and it was free of charge for them.
It was a great job because I felt that I was helping give back to those who serve/served our country. I also played soccer in high school and joined the soccer club on campus. I have 3 kids of my own that range from ages 8 months – 4 years old (so this daycare comes in handy). My goal is to run a daycare that treats children as if they were our own and have not only a fun environment but a learning environment also. I want to pass on my knowledge to others so that they can have a successful daycare as well!
